Artist Statement  

My work is mixed media nature abstract paintings using various papers, stones, watercolor and acrylic on board or oil on canvas. When I travel, I take photos to help me capture the essence of a place, whether ocean, mountains, forest, or people. I hope to generate a sense of awe for this beautiful earth in the viewer, and when that happens, a knowing resonates with the viewer and a heart and soul connection is made. I use watercolor on papers, collected textured papers, silk, linen, gold leaf, texture paint and/or objects glued onto mat board. Then I may add acrylic paint or other color. Each creation is an exploration for the essence of our beautiful earth. I hope the viewer will enjoy the journey with me. There will always be growth and evolution in my work.
